Dr. Gail Weingast is one of many to attend and graduate from the Jackson College at Tufts University. From there, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish in 1969. Weingast’s alma mater was once known as the Jackson College of Women, as established in 1910, and a coordinated college in conjunction with the male college of Tufts. However, it was integrated into the university as the College of Liberal Arts and Jackson College. Years after Weingast’s graduation -- by 1980 -- it was fully part of the College of Liberal Arts, although undergraduate women still continued to receive degrees from the Jackson College through 2002.
